Diljit Dosanjh, who had reportedly signed Shaad Ali’s next project titled Papa Ji Pet Se Hai, based on male pregnancy, now seems to have had second thoughts, as per reports. However, Saad Ali has denied reports of Diljit backing out.
Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh has a huge popularity and is known to have been a part of quite a few unconventional Bollywood films such as Udta Punjab, Soorma, Good Newwz, among others. A few weeks ago, the news of Diljit Dosanjh having signed Shaad Ali’s next project titled Papa Ji Pet Se Hai, based on male pregnancy, had surfaced. While this could have been yet another unconventional project for the actor, reports on the Internet state that Diljit has backed out.
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, Diljit Dosanjh seems to have had second thoughts and a source informed the portal that when director Shaad Ali had narrated the script, Diljit had loved it and had agreed to work in the film. The report states that Diljit, who is in San Fransisco, was all set to return this month for the film’s shoot. “Shaad Ali and his team began work on the film and are ready with the music and prosthetics. However, Diljit Dosanjh doesn’t seem to be interested in doing the film anymore. He’s not responding to the calls of the director and producer. Shaad Ali was all geared up to shoot for the film but they are now stranded and don’t know what to do. Hence, the shoot has now been indefinitely delayed,” said the source.
The source further told Bollywood Hungama that Diljit seems to have developed cold feet and maybe, he fears doing this film based on such a taboo topic as it could invite backlash from fans.
However, director Shaad Ali spoke to Dainik Bhaskar and denied reports of Diljit backing out. He said that there is no truth and these are just rumours. Further adding that Diljit has no problem with doing a film on male pregnancy, he said that Diljit is just having some travel and paperwork issues due to which there has been a delay.
